„HAP“ - I just want to be miserable like everyone else - by John Foster
After the world premiere at The English Theatre in Hamburg (Germany) and follow up performances in Malmö / Sweden (Bastionen Teaterhuset), the new and quirky comedy by BAFTA award-winning, OFFIE-nominated British playwright and screenwriter John Foster is now coming to Copenhagen (Denmark) with six performances at Teatret ved Sorte Hest. Presented by HIT International Theatre Arts and featuring a Swedish and German cast.
Directed by: Paul Glaser, from The English Theatre of Hamburg
Winner of the 2023 Rolf Mares Award as best theatre director in Hamburg.
Meet Hap. Despite all attempts to be a miserablist she can’t ever be unhappy. Unhappy at being happy, she visits Doctor Marples seeking a cure. Doctor Marples, herself desperate for joy doesn’t know how to be happy in the first place. This hilarious comedy about our modern obsession with the pursuit of happiness, shows 2 very different, city-slicker women on either end of a slippery therapist’s couch. Despite the ongoing monotony of Brexit, Corona and takeaways-for-one, Hap and her doctor find, to their surprise, giggles and romance in the most unlikely of places - the therapist’s couch.
